A New York Escorts Confessions

To Be Blond At Heart

Synchronicity is the darndest thing, isn’t it?

A few days ago I ran into my friend Janey. Only I didn’t recognize her even when she waved, called out my name, and ran over to give me a hug. It was only when she pulled back and wrinkled her nose that her features pulled into focus.

For Janey with the light brown hair was now a platinum blond, eyebrows and all.

According to her she was platinum all the way. I decided to take her word for it.

“Wow,” I said trying to readjust. “I can’t believe it. You’re like a completely different you.”

“I know. Sometimes I forget I’ve done it and then I look in the mirror and I’m like whoah.”

“Yeah. Yeah! It really looks fantastic though. What made you decide to do it?”

“Oh I don’t know. A pre-spring thing. I needed a change. You know I broke up with Ralph and—”

“No!”

“It’s okay. Really he kept talking about the suburbs. But Alexa you wouldn’t believe it,” she said looking around discreetly. “In the month that I’ve had it like this? 15% more clients.”

“Get out.”

“Would I lie about something like that? They eat it up. It taps into all their fantasies. The cheerleader. The homecoming queen. Barbie. Jean Harlowe. Madonna. Nicole you name it.”

“People want you to be Barbie?” I mean really. No one asks me to be Raggedy Anne.

“You should do it too. You’d be great as a blond.”

She’s not the first to say this. That was pretty much the standard response when I made the mistake of dying my hair black—a long pause and then, “You’d look great as a blond.”

15%. 15%. Dollar signs flashed in my eyes. My pulse quickened. I could have a two bedroom apartment. In Paris!

I was still thinking about 15% on Sunday when I shuffled out into the hall in my robe and slippers to get The Times. There in the City Section was a full page shot of a luscious blond mane along with an article, “The Golden Girls”, about New York society blondes.

These women have lives that are as platinum as their hair. They live on the Upper East Side, work in the fashion business or are execs on Wall Street. They are the “Bergdorf Blondes” of Plum Sykes book. The Power Blondes. The great blondes of the society pages. Ordinary blondes are mere tawdry flotsom in their wakes.

And banish any images you have in your head of the blond bombshell. These blondes are refined and upper crust. More Gwyneth Paltrow than Scarlett Johanson.

Well I’m really more long and lithe than petite and curvy so I fit the profile there. Hmmm. Could I really pull that kind of a change off though? How would my life be different? It sort of intrigued me. Like a new way to go undercover.

And then I read further. For that kind of great hair with all its requisite touch ups? We’re talking $500 a month. Hello! Can anyone say “new dress” or “new shoes” or maybe even “rent”?

Then again, if I picked up a few more clients a month, what’s $500? Pocket change I guess.

What do you think? Is the universe trying to tell me I’m really a blond in a red-headed body?

Comments

No, the universe is telling you to put an image up, for compareson: One redhead vs one blond, and let the clilentelle (where's the italics when you need it?) decide (and us, naturally ;))

As a natural redhead that dyes to cover grey I would NEVER consider being any other color. I am a full-figured woman that is more on the cute to pretty side than beautiful. However, men are ALWAYS hitting on me. I wish I had a dollar for every time a man told me what a fantasy a redheaded woman is for him. You might be ravishing as a blond but I've yet to see a redhead that looked better with blond/brunette/black hair than she does as her true flame headed self.

I've been reading your blog for quite some time now and have read every post. You come across as a redhead: strong, independent, confident, adventurous, etc. Anybody can be a blond but not everyone can be a redhead.

That's just my opinion though.

Platinum blonde looks slutty-sexy.
Redheads looks seductively sexy.

Remember when Lauren Holly was a redhead in Picket Fences? God, was she hot. Then she became a blonde, which actually was her natural color (I think). And when she did, she was beautiful...but in the same sort of beautiful blonde way that so many other blondes look like. She wasn't unique anymore.

Cynthia Nixon also looked better as a redhead, but she's just unique-looking enough that it really didn't matter when she went back to her natural color.

But I agree with Pandora.

As a dark skinned man, blonde's away!! I love them especially the ones with the dark pubes

Posted by b on Apr 4 12:23PM

My first hypothesis is that your friend, despite the fact that she sometimes forgets she's now a blonde (how stereotypical can you get?) has increased her income due to her own increased confidence rather than because of the actual change. Men like what they like and it is my firm opinion that while a disproportionate number of them may fantasize about blondes, in reality, their tastes are quite varied. I myself like black hair, red hair, brown hair, and blonde hair. That's the *order* I like them in, but I like them all. I also like crazy anime hair, come to that. :) Perhaps you'd look interesting with, say, sea-green hair?

Redheads are few and far between, bleached blondes are everywhere. You are unique. Stay that way.

Posted by Clueless on Apr 4 02:38PM

Change? heavens no!
Redheads are unique - you can't swing a dead cat without hitting 5 fake blonds.

Besides, being a fake blond screams "I am a slave to the media gods".

A person with your strong independent streak should be messaging that.

I've never commented here before, Alexa, but I just have to on this post...

Please, PLEASE don't change from red to blonde. I have no idea what you really look like -- although you sound sexy as all get-out -- but there are blondes all over the place. Redheads just have a thing of their own going on, somehow -- live it, love it, enjoy it. Blondes -- for all their supposed "fun" -- just seem more plain to me. More common.

And you're anything but common, if your adventures are any indication.

All the best to you...and have fun with this "M" person! ;-)

Don't go pretencious on us now. From what I can tell you don't resort to the tactics that others use in order to run your own life. Hey, I know I don't even know "you" but really...do you want to be the same as everyone else or do you want to be an original...to me it seems like that's what you try to do every step of the way. Am I wrong?

Posted by Kait on Apr 4 10:27PM

I never understood that obsession with blonds, It has been studied that the blond gene is slowly disappearing, so i regret to inform you all, that this is a trend that won't go away or worse will grow as the number of real blonds grow shorter. Don't get me wrong, I love blonds as much as I like my brunettes, my red, black haired women.
I dated them all and they are as any human being.
But hey, Alexa! If you can cash in on this, don't hesitate, you'r real beautiful colour will always come back.

Posted by kahuna on Apr 5 01:35PM

Nope. According to Googlefight, red wins:

http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?lang=en_GB&word1=blonde+hair&word2=red+hair

Seriously, women everywhere tend to think that they would be more attractive if they changed something about themselves. But it's not as important as you might think. As someone above said, it's more how you carry yourself than what you look like.

Posted by Stan on Apr 5 05:28PM

Ok, so I know everyone's against you going blonde and wants you to accept your hair color as is, but I gotta say...what's the harm?

I say you go for it! I think everyone should be blonde at one point in their life. I personally have dark black hair, but during highschool, I've had red, brown, orange, blonde, blue and even green hair (the blue and green were wash out sprays, but the orange was a total mishap) and I gotta say...I had more fun as a blonde. Honestly I did.

I mean, dont get me wrong, I love my black hair and all, but I think going blonde is just something that I think everyone should try. I mean, it's not a permanent factor, it's just a cool thing to experiment with. You're young, have some fun with your hair!

Posted by David on Apr 5 10:23PM

Redhead all the way!! If you look through your old yearbook, how many classmates were blonde? red? notice a big difference? Redheads are found few and far between and that alone should be exciting! Blondes are everywhere... I love being a natural redhead, but dying it every now and then to make it more bold, there are sooo many compliments, and that will boost anyones confidence, if you want a change, change the shade of red, but stay red!!

Posted by Lizzy on Apr 6 02:00PM

Noooooo, don't do the blonde thing!

Redheads are a like that stupid bird out here, vary rare. Blondes however, wellllllllllll. I think most the other posts have covered that :)

Stay the red. Don't succumb!

Posted by Sharn on Apr 6 11:16PM

Someone mentioned that the blond gene is slowly disappearing - I find that a bit surprising, but at the same time, I'm not shocked. I've heard that even more so, the redhead gene is disappearing - it is a recessive trait, meaning the best way for more redheads to populate the earth is if redheads kept on having babies with other redheads. Some estimate that the redhead will eventually become very rare or practically nonexistent in a few more generations.

This is a very sad thought for me, since I love redheads more than any other color. Although being blond may sound more fun or potentially lucrative, being a natural redhead is something to be happy with.

Much bravado backing up a love of redheads. I have seen some shockers when freckles are out and about, expecially all over....yuk. Some redheads are spectacular but the ugs can be scary.

Remember Me?

about me

I'm a twenty-something New York escort. I love Prada, Seven jeans, and Jimmy Choos. I'm also totally addicted to Starbucks' grande non-fat white mocha and working out.

So why am I writing this blog? I have an inner exhibitionist that just needs to be let out. I've always wanted to bare myself completely in front of strangers but have always been held back by fear.

As strange as it may sound, I've never really truly bared myself in front of any of my clients. For all that they've seen, they've never seen me be me. And for all that I've seen, I simply need to share it with you!

So why should you come? To be tantalized and teased. To get release by knowing the true me.

I promise that I won't bite, and if I do bite, I'll make sure you like it!
