I think some of your readers are being a little harsh. Isn't your skill set helping men live their fantasies? His may be a little less exciting than most (it's clearly now swinging from the chandeliers), but it is still his fantasy (even if he is hoping, deep down, that it could become reality).

The more interesting question is not whether the real you will be waiting in NY (it's a silly question, since you will easily revert back to yourself after playing this role), but how long until he returns to NY permanently. And, with a wonderful excuse to his then former colleagues. He's chasing true love (regardless as to whether this is reality).

This is what gets me: who could possibly _pretend_ that fast-food fried chicken is homemade?? I'm not a "foodie", but this has me shuddering..!

Fantasies can vary in their cause and, as such, in the type and extent of impact they deliver when disillusionment occurs.

At one end of the scale, sex role-play fantasy for example is entirely deliberate, consensual and has no ill effects when the fantasy finishes; those concerned *know* and accept it's a fantasy and it is not being used to avoid dealing with other issues.

At the other end of the scale, and this chap is I suspect an example, his fantasy is actually an intense denial of the reality and misery he is in. I suspect he'd like the fantasy never to end; but it will, and he'll be back where he was, in misery, although no less able to deal with it than in the first place.

It may be that the time he spends in the fantasy does him good, gives him a rest and a break; or it may be that it does harm, since the reality he is avoiding could be getting worse, the longer he fails to deal with it.

Wow! I'm sorry if this may come out harsh but first of all I get that you are extremely good at your occupation. But doesn't it feel as though S is taking the slightest advantage of you? I mean you are being paid and everything but wanting you at his every whim. My god! A girls got to have some time for herself! I suggest you take it easy for a bit when you return to the great NYC! You deserve a break.

it seems like this is just delaying the inevitable and could cause more harm then good, but i guess your job is to provide that a fantasy with your sexual prowess, not your culinary skills... ;) but there was the doughnuts!

Let's hope he's not really falling in love with you. It's a tough line to walk (I do it badly all the time =/ ) and I'm not sure what to tell you if it happens - except be brutal and end it, since it appears that you are quite happy in your present life situation.
The longer this guy allows himself the idea that this could become reality, the worse it will be for him when he falls flat on his face.
