You can talk politics. And yes, there is a problem with what Pat Robertson is saying. Sadly, there are many out there that listen to the man.

Ahh but if that president had been interviewed saying that he didn't like Pat Robertson's point of view and suggested killing HIM, well then the shoe would be on the other foot wouldn't it? Robertson would be having a field day with something like that...hypocrisy disgusts me!

There is something wrong with a system when people like Pat Robertson can spew there brand of morality freely while flashing a nipple is considered obscene. The protectors are censuring the wrong boob.

The man is a certifiable loon, IMHO.

I happen to have a rather large number of evangelical Christians among my friends, and all of them agree with you and I that he's way beyond the realm of sanity. And all of them whish he would just just the Hell up (pun intended).

That said, I do remind them, on those occasions when they rant and rave about Liberal nutcases, that since I don't judge THEM based upon the Pat Robertson's of the world, that they don't judge ME based upon the Michael Moore's.

What Robertson said was not a smart thing to say, whether its true or not is another story. Plenty of people believe the same thing about Chavez, they just don't broadcast on the national airwaves, even plenty of liberals think that way. The media is more liberal than ever, so they picked this and slammed Robertson.

However, I completely disagree with you Alexa, about comparing him to the Muslim extremists. You say he is the same as them now. How, b/c he talked about doing something. Did he do anything? Have you ever said "I would like to kill that person?" Maybe not on the radio but all of us have wished ill will on another, carrying out those actions is another ballgame. Pls don't ever make that comparison again.

F'ing liberals! All you want to do is slam your fellow americans b/c you aren't in power right now. And people wonder why this country is divided at so crucial a time. Today's young people (and I fit into that category 18-35) are for the most part -- ignorant and stupid!

Hummm I worry about the people out there in my age group when I see post like James's.
1. I don't see an extremely liberal bias in the media these days, the media tends to swing with who is in power it has been my opinion, but that is just my opinion.
2. The extremist that Alexa compared Pat too never do anything either, just condone and call for the actions of others. They are the religous leaders who call for the actions, not the driver of any car bomb.
3.That is a hell of a slam on another american to make.."f'ing liberals" not polite at all.
Now for my own humble opinion.
What Robertson said was implied that the US should have a say in another country's government. That it is up to the US to decide if Venzuala should have it's current president. We do not have nor should we have that authority, I sure would not accept the idea that French should have the authority to kill our president just because he disagrees with their veiws. I don't even think WE have the authority to kill our president if we disagree with him.
And as to why are we so divided as a country right now, well I think perhapes that is easy to see. In our seperation as people, more and more becoming less reliant and associated with one another, we have grown to think that we each individually are absolutely correct in our veiws on everything. We become less tolerant of opposing views and dismiss them out right. I am guilty of it too. And there you have Jeregano's two cents...but if your wondering, I am considered pretty conservative in my circles, but I like to consider myself a moderate..just so no one thinks I am attacking anyone, or that I am some "F'ing liberal" or a "right wing nut job".

I still get a kick out of the fact that there are rapid conservatives following a professional escort's blog... it is, after all, your influence on the government that results in laws making Alexa's work a legal shade of gray. Not to mention the current administration's attempts to censor sexual content online.

Jesus freaks like James talk about liberals the way they talked about the Tutsis in "Hotel Rwanda". If you were a German in the 40's you'd have spent the rest of your life crying that you were "just following orders".

People who accuse people of being in the "blame America first" crowd are members of the "America can do no wrong because I lack the psychological wherewithal to deal with any evidence to the contrary" crowd.

First off, I am not a Jesus freak. I have been to church 4 times in my life. 3 weddings and a funeral.

NEver even baptized. I don't agree with the extreme right (religion freaks) any more than I agree with the extreme left. I am more conservative than liberal for sure.

I was just making comment that what Robertson did is not the same as being a terrorist, as Alexa mentioned.

I am not a Robertson fan either, I just wanted to place one post that offered a non-liberal view on the topic. I know that scares the bejeezus out of all you lefties, the fact that there are people who think differently out here in this country.

I love how the good reverend Jesse Jackson (good reverend?? how many illegitimate children has he fathered??) has come to the aid (in his words) of Chavez, a man who is nothing less than a direct enemy of our country. The fact that any man of stature in this country can do anything at all for him makes me sick.
