Hating the playa is a much simpler action, and the basic result of the absence of a rational analysis of the situation, an individual, the playa, is an easily defined target, it is simple to "drop bombs" on it, in both a literal, and figurative sense, hating the game on the other hand requires one to understand what exactly the game is, and being that the game, in most cases, and this one in particular is an amorphous social structure of life, it is much harder to analyze the cause of one's frustrations, therefore, the existence of the game is ignored, and the playa is now the target. Unfortunately, this method of thinking, or more appropriately, knee jerk reaction, is all to common, and a frequent reason why the problems of the world are rarely fixed, though those caught up in the circumstances are all to frequently prosecuted and persecuted.

The violence you endured is unforgivable. You do not need to defend yourself in anyway. Any fool who does not understand that what you suffered was a brutal and violent rape is beneath contempt and beneath notice - you weren't asking for it - you didn't deserve it. What should also be said is that it appears you have left yourself empowered and survived the trauma.

People read blog for different reasons. I don't think you can necessarily fit them into one mold. I for example read your blog for entertainment. Others because I know the people, and I read some other blog because I am facinating how strange/weird the people that write them are.

I think most of those people don't necessarily have any long-repressed desires even though it is possible in some instances. They might simply have a standpoint in life which makes you strange in their eyes. And they might have some bad past experiences with escorts which make them want to lash out. Or fears...

The best way to treat outburst like this is to simply not dignify them with a response. You know yourself that the way the guy treated you was horrible and unjustified.

It's an old saying, but a true one -- with the anonymity and instant response of the Internet, lots of people feel free to say things they would hesitate to say in person. Often emotional first reactions go straight to the keyboard and are then immortalised for all the public to see.

I'm glad you seem to have survived the incident without any permanent harm.

There's a quote from Howard Stern's "Private Parts" that's pretty 'plicable here. The scene where PigVomit/Kenny finds out Stern's ratings near the end, the suit is reading why he's #1 among his fans: I listen to hear just what he'll say next. And THEN why his detractors listen: I listen to hear what he'll say next.

I have the same thing happen on my blog.. People hate what I stand for and what I write about but they come back day after day to rip me a new one for writing what I wrote.

I don't get it. If they hate my politics and your lifestyle, why do they feel they need to come back and beat-up on us with their rants?

I never could understand the psyche of the haters myself. I don't need to go around preaching my moral standards to others. How I feel about things I post in my own blog and if people chose to read my drivel, they are welcome to visit.

I think I have to agree with what Evil Pundit said...people have more guts to say things online, then they would in real life. I don't think half the people who comment on here would say anything to your face.

That's ultimately the tragic thing about this blog. A smart well-educated woman who probably has much to offer the world in many ways instead chooses to make a lot of money by joining the world's oldest profession, because her pay stunk and her boss was a bitch. Yeah, it's tough out there.

So she chooses a job that existed 100 years ago, 1,000 years ago, one that she could have done without even a high school diploma....what sort of progress is that? A woman who chooses this route, quite frankly, is implicitly betraying the goals of the woman's movement.

Yes, the woman's movement ultimately is all about choice. But I really don't think those who have worked and sacrificed for the ever-increasing role of women in society and the economy had high-priced prostitution near the top of their list of career choices they wanted opened to their daughters. They could have had that when the US was 13 colonies.

Are you implying that it shouldn't be women, but more specifically others, who choose what women can and cannot do? There doesn't seem to be very much freedom or liberation in that, just changing one pair of shackles for another. If you don't like prostitutes, just say it - but don't try to justify your hatred with archaic and arbitrary facts.

I have not quite grasped why it is that people say that a house wife is just an escort that doesn’t get paid in the same fashion. Frankly an escort makes a whole hell of a lot more money then I did as a housewife. I gave up my career as a travel agent to be a housewife not for money but for love. Most of the real housewives aren’t doing it for the money, your thinking of those women who have nannies and maids. The ones who get to spend their days shopping, doing lunch and getting their nails and hair done. Real housewives have to work and since usually it’s a large cut in pay you don’t get much more then appreciation for your efforts. And that is if your really lucky. I think personally do what makes you happy. I think its crap to say being an escort is a disgrace to the feminist movement, just like I feel its crap to hear people say being a housewife is a disgrace to the movement. I chose to do what I thought was best for my family. So someone chooses to do what makes them happy I say go for it. If we legalized the profession, mandatory safety requirements could be instigated for those who were performing the service then everyone, including the unsuspecting significant other, would be safer. Don’t get pissy I do not under any circumstance advocate someone in a monogamous relationship utilizing an escort, but lets face it, it happens, at least if there were rules in place and health requirements. it would help protect everyone.
