A New York Escorts Confessions

Selling Out (Part III)

Skirt? Calvin Kleins.

Purse? Prada.

Pumps? Jimmy Choos, of course.

Running out the door, I did a quick last minute check of my hair and makeup. Although I wasn’t sure about working for an agency, everything needed to be perfect. If a girl in my profession doesn’t maintain her image, she doesn’t have anything.

Upon my arrival at Kathryn’s Upper East townhouse for the interview, a very tall man with a close-cropped head greets me at the door. He’s wearing all black — pants, shirt and leather jacket. “Miss Kathryn’s expecting you,” he says in a heavy Russian accent as he turns and leads me into a sitting room lit with the largest chandelier that I’ve ever seen. Light dances off the giant pear-shaped pendant hanging from the center.

Kathryn enters the room wearing skin-tight pants tucked into her equestrian-style boots. She’s pulled her hair into a severe pony tail — you can almost see individual strands of hair on the side of her head crying for help. Although thick layers of makeup conceal her true face now, she was probably a real hottie back in her day. She’s certainly done a great job maintaining her body. The only hint of softness comes from her baby blue cashmere sweater.

Without saying a word, Kathryn methodically examines my body for a while — it feels likes a couple minutes. (I had unconsciously stood up when Kathryn entered the room.) Finally, she says, “You’ll do.”

Before I can respond, she continues by saying, “You need a boob job. Nothing too big. Just up to a C. And it has to look natural — we don’t need balloons attached to your chest. Don’t worry. We know just the doctor who can do it.”

I think about telling her that my boobs are just fine. Sure, they’re B’s but they’re nice and perky! I decide to hold my tongue, though, when I notice that Kathryn’s right hand is missing a pinky. Only a little stub is there.

I find it difficult to focus on the rest of the interview. My mind keeps imagining all sorts of scenarios about Kathryn’s missing pinky.

Here are some facts that I gathered, though:

1. I’d probably get about the same from the agency as I currently get on my own for normal one-hour sessions. They charge twice what I normally charge, but I’d only get to keep 50% of the fees.

2. Weekend stays are the real jackpot because the agency’s clients pay a lot for an entire weekend — sometimes up to 3 times my normal fees — and many of their clients like to reserve a girl for a whole weekend.

3. The agency’s clientele mostly consists of ultra-rich businessmen who like to take us girls with them on social functions as well. Having a brain is a bonus — just not too much of one.

4. Although the agency doesn’t like its girls to be too independent, it’s OK if I keep some of my own clients on the side. I just need to be available when the agency calls.

As I get ready to leave at the end of the interview, Kathryn says, “Oh, one other thing. Don’t think about setting up ‘private’ sessions with our clients.”

“Oh?”

“Some girls did that before. Of course, they don’t work for us any more. They’ve found it hard to work for anyone else too. It’s a real shame because they were such pretty girls.”

OK. Now I’m officially weirded out.

I thank Kathryn for her time and tell her that I’ll call her back. She seems a bit miffed that I didn’t accept on the spot. She says, “Take your time. Just don’t take too long.”

So what do you think? Should I give it a try?

I never got a chance to ask about benefits. Somehow, I don’t think that Kathryn is the type of employer who provides a full healthcare or 401(k) plan.

uh....missing pinky? veiled threats? sounds very yakuza-like. proceed with extreme caution :)

Hey Alexa,
Plz don't sell out to these corporate bastards. They'll squeeze you dry. Plz maintain your independent status. That's all I have to say.

-John.

Posted by John on Oct 17 10:50PM

The missing pinky sounds incredibly spooky. If she's such a rich beeyotch, why doesn't she get a fake one attached? I bet she had it cut off when she was being a whore for disobediance (and then they stuck it up her ass). Yikes. I'd back away slowly. Boob job?

Posted by Dawei on Oct 17 10:52PM

It is almost impossible to answer with the information we have. You make it sound like you are making a nice living. Are you financially happy with where you are? Seems to me that your business has a certain life span--or at least I'd bet you make less money as you age. That said, I'd capitalize as much as possible as young as possible. If you can keep your hourly customrs and cash in on the big weekends it may be worth doing. Will they pay for the boobs?

Posted by Larry on Oct 17 11:01PM

Do you feel comfortable going there? What is your gut telling you?
As a reader, we can only imagine what you're telling us... and it sounds spooky and dangerous. Then again, this isn't probably a typically "safe" job, but this sounds like putting yourself in an situation that may be extra difficult to get out of later...

Posted by Sara on Oct 17 11:09PM

She demanded you get a boob job? I say decline. I have really spooky feelings about this one.

Oh yeah, Hi, I found your blog while some time ago, although I can't remember how... anyways, it's a very intersting read. :-)

NO FUCKING WAY. Alexa, the worst thing you can do is get implants. Secondly, russian bodyguards is already a no-no. I'm telling you, if you go down this path, it'll be worse for you. You hardly gain a SINGLE thing! Omg just reading that you're considering is getting me so fired up. I know I'm in no position for threats, but if you do sign up, I'll stop reading, find your apartment in the city and give you a backslap.

I'm sorry, but if you agree to this GIPS 'R US whore, it's over.

Posted by Zisk on Oct 17 11:16PM

Doesn't sound good...if for no other reason than they'd tell you what to do with your breasts. Obviously that hasn't been a problem for you so far.

My advice: stay where you are and raise your prices.

Then again, I know zero about the industry.

Posted by LoxyFady on Oct 17 11:41PM

I wonder if the reason those other girls "found it hard to work for anyone else" is because their lying in the ground in itty bitty pieces with a stone slab sitting six feet above them. I mean really, what the hell was she doing that made her lose a fricking pinky??? I don't like her. She's sketchy! Real sketchy!!

Posted by DonSan on Oct 17 11:43PM

NO way. do it on your now. Sounds too scary to work for them.

Posted by Dude on Oct 17 11:49PM

Hi Alexa,

No doubt there was intimidation ! ! which is always scarey, but your business Is a dangerous one for sure...I know that for a fact since my daughter is an escort herself..

She does work for an 'agency' which does have it's good points...protection for you. The men no doubt know they should not go above and beyond. (Trying not to pay, roughing you up)

But then again the threats, the boob job, the not working in the industry makes me say no to you ... The russian mob in NY are worse than any other form of organized crime there ever was in the city.

But due to the fact that some high class agencys do find exceptional clients, I just might look into other places...And yes I know weekends, trips and such are paid at a very good rate...

Hope I didn't confuse you there...and hope you understood what i wrote no to olag the terrible, but look into other reputable agencys that do assure safety...

Posted by Kozmo on Oct 18 12:28AM

If Kathryn insists on the boob job...don't take the job...why should you be forced for breast enlargements just to get the job.

Posted by Charlie on Oct 18 12:53AM

I must agree with all the people who have a bad vibe about this woman. She seems exploitative and dangerous. She'll chew you up and spit you out. Forget about it.

On another subject, how long has it been since you visited my blog? Did you ever read my post entitled "Fan mail from a lady of the evening"? It was about you. Since you are politically aware, I would love to know what you think of my comments about consumerism in that post.

Posted by The Anti-Puritan on Oct 18 01:08AM

Run, girl... You're just a piece of meat to her.

Posted by Ben on Oct 18 01:09AM

Don't do it. The pinky is a giveaway to all kinds of doom. Its totally mafia. And thats how they work, giving you just a little more for the insurance of being able to make your life miserable if necessary. Save your money and open a prada store in tahiti.

Posted by J on Oct 18 01:33AM

I think I would pass, It sounds like they are going to take over your life.

Posted by tommy on Oct 18 01:35AM

Tell her to go fuck herself. And if she takes that as some sort of weird pun..tell her...no seriously, go fucking fuck yourself.

Posted by Patrick on Oct 18 01:45AM

don't do it, alexa!! that was a weird, weird scene. i agree with what others have said ... boob job? intimidation? this isn't good. you're doing all right on your own, and i just don't like the sound of it. in fact, i'd say steer clear of these people entirely.

Boob job?
Don't do it. Just don't.

By the way, I love reading your blog :)

Posted by Tim on Oct 18 02:28AM

I would stay independent. Once you go corporate, you can't get out unscathed. If you stay independent for now, you can always decide later to join an agency if times are tough.

ZEN!!!

Posted by ZEN!!! on Oct 18 02:29AM

If this were a straight job, you would never consider taking it.

Either this agency is run by total posers, or it is connected with people who do not have a problem using violence as a method of employee negotiation. Plus, quite frankly, there is no indication that you will make substantively more than you make now. How is this a good offer?

You should turn down the offer. You should make sure that friends know who you were dealing with, just in case these are the kinds of people who are unaccustomed to having offers declined. That's not a joke. Organized crime is not some funny fiction that you see on TV. It is violent and dangerous and solely motivated by greed, power, and money.

Posted by SG on Oct 18 02:33AM

hi alexa. i'm still reading, in that coincidence way you found me. rawr!

the breast implant thing is a sign if you're happy with your body.

Posted by bing on Oct 18 02:53AM

- Don't trust anyone who employs bodyguards with heavy russian accents. In my city (Geneva), russians control most of the drug and luxury escorts networks. Not a good crowd to know. I had a weird experience with one of these thugs.

- Do you really want to start a business relationship with someone so unfriendly ? Veiled threats, boob job, "you'll do", "yes you may keep some of your customers", "if you don't do what we say, you'll never work again" ?

- The agency charges twice as much as you do, maybe they have twice as less customers as you do.

- Kathryn is missing a finger. She probably worked as an escort before. Maybe she set up private sessions with customers. Maybe a russian thug cut off her pinky as a warning. It's common in the mob.

- It doesnt sound like you can trust them. Don't work with people you can't trust or rely on.

“4. Although the agency doesn't like its girls to be too independent, it's OK if I keep some of my own clients on the side. I just need to be available when the agency calls.”

And what happens when you’re with one of your own clients and they call you? This sounds like their way of saying we own you...

Also: what happens when you “bring in” a client (that is, make him go through the agency to see you when previously he could just give you a ring), and he decides he wants to see you sans the agency?

Finally: it sounds very much as though the power games have _already_ begun. When my bosses pull shit like that, I either quit or have them fired. You will leave yourself completely without the ability to do that...

I have done work with Hustler, Red Light District video,"the company the sells the Paris Hilton tape, vivid video and others....I relize they are different businesses however I will tell you that if you have any self respect left for yourself you will lose this once you work for an agency...

I have seen it first hand...both as a JOHN and as a owner of contend provider...What this does to girls is something that got me out of the business even walking away from a lot of money...

I hope that i wasnt to harsh? its just that i think you have a real soul that shines and i wanted to be honest with you!

I second the majority of the above,
you can always up your prices girl, if I were you I'd be setting up plan A, B and C to ease out of this nice and simple like.

back yourself up, sounds shifty as hell (at least you know an address of theirs, give it to your friends)

and don't you dare get a boob job, you've been doing great without it and you'll continue to do so, fake breasts - not good.

good luck - call back soon.

Posted by Monkey on Oct 18 03:47AM

Dear Alexi

What you need to do is talk with other girls in your profession. In this case I would highly recommend Olympia.

You are dancing with the jailor (your clients) circling in and out of your cell through living other people's fantacies. If you are not carefull you can find yourself participating in your own execution. What is most needed is for you to break the circular dance and live your own life. Apparently Olympia does this through books and an emotionally celibate life. Not something I'd recommend but you must choose your own path.

My regards to Olympia if you choose to share this with her.

Posted by Craig on Oct 18 03:47AM

I don't like it. FIrst off, it's not worth getting the boob job if the pay is the same, and Jesus, does this chick play chop poker or what? I'm sure there are better opportunities out there.

Posted by Dante on Oct 18 04:03AM

Russian Mob, the Yakuzas, and being a corporate slave. It doesn't sound good in any one of those three ways. But the choice is still yours.

Posted by vlad on Oct 18 05:52AM

I agree with the majority of readers.... The boob job is a bit extreme. I say stick with what you got..

Posted by Adam on Oct 18 06:20AM

Please think about the day you would no longer work for the agency. Upon leaving the agency, they send your photos to your family and post your contact info all over the web.

You appear to have a following that is more than what an agency can offer.

STAY AWAY.

Ed

Posted by Mr. Ed on Oct 18 07:49AM

We live in a harsh world and in your job you have to capitalize on your looks while (hope for a long time) you can.I'm not the first to say it but if you feel happy with the cash you earn now, don't let greed put you in a situation that would make you lose the control that you have over your life, something that you seem really proud of (and you should).
Losing your freedom after gaining it when you quit your previous job is'nt worth all the cash in the world.

Posted by Yelram on Oct 18 08:07AM

I wonder if we will still hear from you, if they knew that you are writing a blog about your life.

Posted by Sean on Oct 18 08:25AM

It's clearly Russian organized crime. There is no upside. They are far more dangerous than they appear - and they appear pretty scary. If you work for them, you could end up in a very bad place very quickly.

It might be a good idea to decline their invitations politely but firmly.

I wonder if there are many truly independent, reputable services in NY?

Posted by UV on Oct 18 08:54AM

Stay independent. Same money. No bodily harm. No expensive surgery.

Posted by Saney on Oct 18 08:55AM

Russian bodyguards, boob jobs, missing pinkies, and veiled threats? Sounds like the premise for an episode of Law & Order: SPecial Victims Unit. Stay away.

Maybe another agency will have a different salary and way better terms. Or maybe you're happier as an independent. In any case, this agency sounds like a potential living nightmare.

Posted by Surly on Oct 18 09:47AM

I agree with just about everyone here. I think a B size cup is fine. You don't need them any bigger, and I think it was an insult for her to say you needed them bigger.

Don't take the job. I think it's something that you could get stuck doing, and not have a way out...

Posted by ErnieMac on Oct 18 10:54AM

You were right with the first posting in this saga-ette. He/She/Mob/whatever they turn out to be.. its organized, they represent power over you, and everything I've read in your world so far shouts against this. overhead reduction is NOT enough of a benefit to fall back into being someone else's servant. The most of us are saddled with that still, don't walk back into it. your posting speak volumes... you don't want this path, and you wanted to handle it on your own which is why you're walking your current path. Good luck to you....

Posted by oooRobertooo on Oct 18 10:57AM

Alex,

This was on Drudge:

Of those involved in a committed relationship, who is very satisfied with their relationship?
Republicans — 87 percent; Democrats — 76 percent

Who is very satisfied with their sex life?
Republicans — 56 percent; Democrats — 47 percent

The poll analysis also reveals who has worn something sexy to enhance their sex life:
Republicans — 72 percent; Democrats — 62 percent

When asked whether they had ever faked an orgasm, more Democrats (33 percent) than Republicans (26 percent) said they had.

Your thoughts?

Posted by Charles on Oct 18 11:01AM

Work for somebody else, for the same money with added control freakery? Why? And for what it's worth I think the posters above who have mentioned that veiled threats and russian accents are a bad thing are right-RUN don't walk away from it. Maybe you could contact some of the other Working Girl bloggers and canvass for recommendations for reputable agencies in NY if you're looking to increase your cash flow.
Good Luck

Posted by Si on Oct 18 11:11AM

If you are going to make just about the same money, then I would stick to what you are doing. They sound scammy and it sounds like if you piss them off they will ruin your clientelle. Plus, as many have said... it all sounds shady - boob jobs, missing pinky, threats.

I would keep doing what you are doing babe - it seems to be working for you!

Posted by mook on Oct 18 12:19PM

Are they gonna fit the bill for the boob-job?

The missing pinkie thing is hilarious. How did it look? Those things take a good while before they look "normal", so it could have happened when she was young.

Do the old Ben Franklin close on yourself. Pros- on one side and Cons- on the other... add them up and if you can live with the cons, go with the side that has more.

Good luck and keep them fingers.

Posted by Adam on Oct 18 12:29PM

Red Flag! That's pretty weird if you ask me.

Posted by Joe on Oct 18 01:19PM

I would think the threats alone should be enough to wave you off a deal like this, but if you are still interested, perhaps the best thing to do would be to hire a private investigator and quietly get a report on your prospective employer's background; for a few hundred dollars you'll know who you're dealing with.

Even if the people check out, ask yourself whether you couldn't learn how to do what they are offering, and build up a list of contacts of your own, both clients and consultants.

But keep in mind that most parterships (such as in law, real estate, accounting) only last a few years ... even in the best of cases, you will need a reliable and safe exit strategy: like they say in the movies, don't walk in a place unless you know how to get out.

Posted by Harry on Oct 18 01:28PM

By saying you were weirded out is an indicator that your gut is telling you "RUN!" Seriously, this sounds kind of sketchy to me.

Kathryn would make a great character in some freaky crime drama, but as an employer? No, thanks. And knowing a thing or two about the Russian mafiya as I do, I wouldn't go near any Russian-accented crooks even if my life depended on it.

First off, this sounds like something out of a David Lynch, Blue Velvet-ish movie! I'd be a bit concerned. Your independence is what's the most important in life, and in a career. So I'd stay independent if I were you; don't compromise your integrity for some money.

What society do we live in when a B cup is considered insufficient? Personally, I think implants are unattractive.

Keep on doing what you're doing and don't compromise your integrity.

Wish you the best!

Posted by Alexis on Oct 18 03:42PM

The missing pinky should have nothing to do with taking the job or not. I lost mine doing something dumb. She might have also. Untell we know how that happend leave it lone. Having owend a agency I understnd the small threats. a lot of girls will come to work just long enough to get customer base then go out on there own. The boob job (to each her own) if you would like one go for it most but not all clintes like big boobs. But if you don't want them and you still get them they will hurt your business more then help. I will go along with most of the post your gut feeling is what you need to go by and I have the idea you did not feel good about it. there are agencys out there that would love to have you working for them and would treet you great. working for an agency you can have more of a socil by leaving the job at the office so to speak. good luck

BTW my g/f turned me on to your little corner of the web love it girl keep up the good work

A B S O L U T E L Y N O T ! No real upside that I can see, and a whole lot of downside, if you get my meaning. Stay independent. America needs more entrepreneurs like you. Invest heavily now, because when you retire you should have a nice nest egg. Compound interest is your friend. Perhaps you already have a client who is an investment banker who might be able to supply you with tips. And remember to diversify!

Read the books written by Xaviera Hollander if you want some more information about the independent "businesswoman." She was known as the "Happy Hooker," and her stories are amazing.

Take care and trust your gut. First impressions are the most important ones, and your intuition should be relied on in this case. God bless.

Posted by Brock on Oct 18 07:40PM

I'm with everyone else, Alexa. There's no way that you can take this job, especially on the account that you must get a breast job. There's nothing worth going through that kind of torment just for the jollies of men whose pay will only get you the same as you're getting from the men who obviously adore you now.

Posted by Kitten on Oct 18 07:43PM

Russian muscle, not a good sign. Demand that you get a boob job, not good either - who pays for it and if they do, what will they be charging you for it, not to mention the lost work time. What is next, nose, butt, tummy, a rib? Why work for twice the money and only get to keep half? Corporate escorts, doesn't sound like that good a deal. Why did you look into this in the first place? Why not just get your own manager/partner?

Posted by Outlaw3 on Oct 18 07:47PM

Like I said before, damn the man! Plus, that agency sounds like a Russian Mob syndicate. Although I admit I have an overactive imagination. What do you think happened to those other girls?!?

Posted by G-Man on Oct 18 08:07PM

I don't know much about your profession so I wouldn't be the best person to lay any advice on you, but that lady seems a bit lacking on the proffesional end of things. Coming from a buisness world stand point (which i have to laugh at myself for doing since i am an art major whos now an accountant go figure), an employer should want the employee as much as the employee wants the job. If this lady is like "You'll do" and "You need new tits" then she doesn't sound like she needs you too much, so now the spin, if she doesn't need you, do you really need her. sure you'll have a few extra sheckles at the end of the month, but will you be happier with those sheckles or with personal freedom.

just some thoughts, and like I said, I don't really know your buisness too well so I'm just going from my buisness standpoint.

Posted by Evan Ames Sucks on Oct 18 08:10PM

Okay, let me chime in with agreement for the 100 or so other people who say, no way.

It sounds like you're a little enticed by the weekend with the ultra-wealthy. A little glamour, a little adventure, right? If that's the case, please consider that those ultra-rich people she referred to may also be Russian (or other) organized crime people. And if one of them wants to do something you don't want to do, and you say no, what do you think happens to you?

Be polite, be apologetic, thank her for the offer, and say no.

Posted by Mithras on Oct 18 08:37PM

Personally I would say no.
The veiled threat, "Of course, they don't work for us any more",is what turned me off.
Seems a bit a risk I wouldn't want to take.

Posted by ^AGFH^ on Oct 18 08:47PM

I concur with declining this somewhat dubious offer. Although there is the possibility of making more money for the long weekends, there is no guarantee you would be doing that work.

The fact that there is a requirement for you to alter your body raises some questions. After all, how long would you be out of work during that time frame? Would the company be willing to pay you at that time?

Somehow I doubt it.

Posted by Ken on Oct 18 08:52PM

Let me add my voice to the majority here. This doesn't sound like a good thing AT ALL for you.

To sum up: DON'T DO IT!

Posted by Johnny B on Oct 18 09:06PM

Working for someone else is never a better deal, if you can handle the service alone. This is true in a typical business, as well as your business. What the agency is doing is reselling your time and talents. This is what the temp agency does. This type of agency however, is evil. You know this, otherwise you would have signed on immediately.

Thinking of the future, since we all age hopefully, you should have a savings set up to help you open your own business at a future date. This could be the escort agency business or another type. Prada in Tahiti sounds wonderful!

You have the brains and ambition to be whatever you wish to be. Plan, stay on goal and achieve!

Sorry to be sounding like a counselor of some kind.

I do love your site. You are a wonderful writer of first person stories. A book perhaps?

Definitely no. Independent is the way to go, and stay in your case. You aren't going to gain anything, and when you decide to leave the agency, you will be right back where you started having to gain a clientele again since you can't book private sessions without them finding out. All the signs point to negatives.

Definately stay on the Indie path. The yield may be a bit smaller, but you won't have to answer to anyone but yourself.

Starting with a cliche: Long time reader, first time poster...

Tossing my lot in with the VAST majority, I would agree: Do not do it. It sounds like you're looking to join the "family" and getting back out isn't an easy thing to do. I mean how are you going to update us missing a finger??

Also: if you are happy with your body and your current clients are happy with it, then screw 'em. You seem like you are doing well enough on your own.

Love the site. Keep it up (with all your fingers and original boobs, preferably...)

Why do it? You are self employed now... What could be better than that. I could introduce you to my idiot boss if you need a solid example why it is better to work for yourself.

I'll again chime in with the MINORITY view. Its all about the money. Your career will only last so long and you probably want to maximize the amount of money you make. Just for the weekend work, if its a lucrative as you say, it may be worth it.

How does one go about finding reputable escort services in NYC? I have been here a while but refuse to just trust random advertisements. My attitude is the real quality places don't advertise--how do I find one?

Angelita: no worries, I find parties to be too confining. Exercising my brain leads me to a lovely mix o left right center up down in out politics. I've voted both ways ;-) Live, listen, learn, sex, fun, friends, sex, love, study, grow, think, sex... Too much to blindy fall down one line or another just because he/she is popular/annoying on a 4year cycle. Oh yeah, did I mention sex (as in have SOME!:)

Did you catch this article in the Sunday Times? It's eerily related to your post today about the "Agency."

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

please do not!

When you are doing all this on your own, is there someone that knows where you are at all times? And approximately how long you are going to be. The only advantage I can see of being with the agency is that someone will know where you are and what you are up to.
If you have someone that already does this for you then I don't see why you need the agency. But for security I would say go with the agency. Maybe find one that doesn't make you get a boob job though.
The riding boots sounded sexy though.

From the information given, I would recommend that you steer clear of these people.

about me

I'm a twenty-something New York escort. I love Prada, Seven jeans, and Jimmy Choos. I'm also totally addicted to Starbucks' grande non-fat white mocha and working out.

So why am I writing this blog? I have an inner exhibitionist that just needs to be let out. I've always wanted to bare myself completely in front of strangers but have always been held back by fear.

As strange as it may sound, I've never really truly bared myself in front of any of my clients. For all that they've seen, they've never seen me be me. And for all that I've seen, I simply need to share it with you!

So why should you come? To be tantalized and teased. To get release by knowing the true me.

I promise that I won't bite, and if I do bite, I'll make sure you like it!
