It was surreal.

Even the volleyball players lacked energy, though, without the usual crowds egging them on.

Yeah, Jeanne kicked our asses in Gainesville, too. It's Tuesday night - the end of day three, in other words - and I still have no power. So I'm sitting in Panera using their wireless internet. Also, my car, normally so cute and agreeable, decided that this would be a good time to start LEAKING. So the passenger-side floor is SOAKING WET.

Anyway, I'm about to drive that smelly wet car up to my parents' for some air conditioning and some non-room-temperature food.

jess, sorry to hear about your troubles. i escaped jeanne relatively unscathed because it hit florida north of miami. from what we saw on the tv, though, it hit other parts of florida much more severely. aren't you getting tired of all these hurricanes?
