A New York Escorts Confessions

Bye Bye Belle

Belle de Jour quit her blog today.

Sundown is the start of Rosh Hashanah. I’m afraid, darlings, the time has come for me to go. When this blog started it was with no expectations. I’ve never lived my life to a plan aside from enjoying myself and have (for the most part) enjoyed doing this.

All things pass. For instance: Harts the Grocer, I am saddened to note, are now Tesco Metro. But that is the way of things. I’ll miss this. The time will never be right to finish the diary — so I am ending it now.

I’m going to miss her as I truly enjoyed reading about life on the other side of the pond. Bye Bye Belle. :(

well that sucks ass.

she writes well and from what i've read is very descriptive yet it all seems professional.

a crying shame, but like seinfeld, better go out at the top

i foresaw this a long time ago. belle was never the same after her book deal. i'm not accusing her of selling out, but with rights to first publishing, i'm certain it must have been tiresome for her to save her best material for the hardcover, and somehow maintain a blog to keep up with her readership demands.

i suspect this won't be the last we hear of her. at the very least, her die-hard fans have the book to look forward to.

is 'fans' really the right word to use when talking of an online blog? just doesn't seem right.

I agree that her writing changed after the book deal. While it was completely understandable, it made me miss the old Belle.

I suppose it's like being teased a little too long. We all knew what was underneath, but just couldn't seem to get her to scratch the surface.

I think she was getting back to the old Belle in her last few posts, but then it came to an abrupt halt. I'm devastated but I'll be getting the book.

Her book deal killed her best material. I'll be awaiting her movie deal next.

Yes, I agree that nothing was the same after her book deal. She seemed to get more secretive. I wonder if she was under a gagging order (no pun intended) from her publishers? Thank goodness we have the NY escort! Planet.

Greetings from Long Island. I have read your entire blog and I must say that you have definitly changed my mind when it comes to the education of an escourt. I do realize that you are a women first and your profession second. A job is what you do and not who you are. I will be a loyal reader primarly becuase of your stance on Religion and Politics. Thanks for the Blog...good reading when i am at work.

never quite understood her popularity.

Posted by Nicholas Anti on Sep 16 06:22PM

Good for her. If she feels like saving it for print, awesome. Money works sometimes. She can just scribble away and let her publisher figure it out for her. Me, jealous? Hell yeah. Thank you for your email, lady...

BDJ was the first weblog I came across, since it had received max publicity by winning The Guardian weblog of the year award. She was interviewed for a Sunday supplement too. I have to say I was never quite certain she wasn't just a very astute writer who used the weblog phenomenon as a great marketing tool. But whatever, she wrote some interesting stuff and who knows Belle may well have been genuine, and I've thought since, why is it only the wealthy guys get that kind of fun..hehe..lmao

Posted by Steve on Sep 21 05:23AM

Don't agree. She's sold out. She could have written the book AND kept her Blog going...she forgets that without the people reading her blog, she'd never have come to the attention of the Guardian...and the subsequent Book deal would never have happened. If you want to keep up with events on the other side of the pond...read "Diary Of A London Based Ebony Escort" at http://escort.blog-city.com/index.cfm.
Hey NYE...if you ever hit the "Bigtime"....tell us you won't discard us!

She is missed.

Its through Belle that i came to real Alexa and subsiquently hooked up to blogs. so for me she's what blogging is all about. an intallectual vuoyanism. her style of writing, sheer platitue in cockney made for one of the most intence reads lately. This might be an hyperbole, but I found her writing to be as good as...say...Salman Rashdi's.

Remember Me?

web designers

about me

I'm a twenty-something New York escort. I love Prada, Seven jeans, and Jimmy Choos. I'm also totally addicted to Starbucks' grande non-fat white mocha and working out.

So why am I writing this blog? I have an inner exhibitionist that just needs to be let out. I've always wanted to bare myself completely in front of strangers but have always been held back by fear.

As strange as it may sound, I've never really truly bared myself in front of any of my clients. For all that they've seen, they've never seen me be me. And for all that I've seen, I simply need to share it with you!

So why should you come? To be tantalized and teased. To get release by knowing the true me.

I promise that I won't bite, and if I do bite, I'll make sure you like it!
