I think it's a little harsh on the Sri Lankans who, despite their internecine shit between the Sinhalese and Tamils, have allowed Arthur C Clarke to reside there for something like 30 years.

Well, I am from Pakistan, and, our government does get very involved in our private lives. At the same time, things are changing fast.

As far as the govt is concerned. I would prefer them in bed rather than monitoring it.
